Chrrpt is our in-house laboratory for voice-first connection — a lean audio messaging protocol built as a living prototype. There are no timelines or infinite scrolls, just ephemeral audio snippets that foster presence. Messages self-expire after nine days, reflecting a commitment to privacy, cost-efficiency, and intentional engagement.

Authentication in Chrrpt is designed for immediacy: one-tap OTP via phone number replaces federated identity silos. This frictionless entry point reinforces the ethos of minimalism, while modular “cllps” (audio reactions) allow users to respond with expressive gestures rather than text-heavy threads. Each audio reaction is a plug-and-play asset, enabling swift iteration on tone and format.

Under the hood, Chrrpt embraces on-demand API calls and LLM-friendly architecture. Metadata exchanges occur only when triggered by user intent, minimizing noise in the system. This approach keeps storage lean—mere megabytes per month—and positions the protocol for seamless integration with micro-LLMs. Chrrpt is proof that a lightweight backend can unlock rich, voice-driven experiences.
